All About The Shrimpers-online
From a 2004 Fan Experiment to a 2026 Rebirth
The Shrimpers-online was originally created in 2004 as both a Southend United website and forum. It quickly grew into a cult favourite among Blues fans for honest match previews, cult hero tributes, supporter debate, humour and a real community feel.
Over time, a small group of fellow Southend United fans helped run the forum side. After many years offline, the site was fully relaunched in 2026 with the same independent spirit.
Today, The Shrimpers-online is mainly run by one lifelong Southend United supporter, with help, ideas, feedback and editorial contributions from other dedicated Blues fans.

Who Runs The Site?
The site was founded and is primarily run by one lifelong Southend United fan.
It is also shaped by the wider Blues community, with supporters contributing memories, ideas, feedback, photos, archive information and occasional articles.
The aim is simple: to build a Southend United website that is independent, useful, enjoyable to read and worthy of the clubβs history.
Independent Fan Media
The Shrimpers-online is not affiliated with Southend United Football Club or the Shrimpers Trust, but we operate respectfully alongside the wider fan community.
We also recognise the value of supporter discussion across the fanbase, including the excellent conversations on ShrimperZone.
By the fans, for the fans. That was the spirit behind the original site, and it is still the heart of The Shrimpers-online today.
