French striker Amadou Ba joined Southend from Le Havre in August 2017, making his first senior appearance against Newport County in the League Cup. He was used chiefly as a substitute, with his two starts coming in the EFL Trophy rather than league matches.

Ba also gained non-league experience during a loan spell at Dartford before returning to Le Havre in September 2019. His original Southend archive lists twelve competitive games and no goals, a total awaiting final season-by-season confirmation.
