Before, during & after Southend
Striker Blair Sturrock arrived from Truro City in July 2010, shortly after his father Paul took charge of Southend's rebuild. He brought years of Football League experience from Plymouth Argyle, Swindon and other clubs, scoring seven Southend goals during two seasons interrupted by injuries.
One memorable winner came at Rotherham United in January 2011. He left in summer 2012 and later signed for Bishop's Stortford. The historical records agree on the seven goals but differ by one first-team appearance.
