Before, during & after Southend
Wide midfielder Kevan Hurst joined Southend from Walsall in July 2012 and spent four seasons at Roots Hall. He was a regular supplier of crosses and a useful goalscorer during the 2012/13 Trophy run and the play-off campaigns that followed.
His best league season was 2013/14, when he scored eleven times. He also contributed as the Shrimpers won promotion to League One in 2015. Across League, FA Cup, League Cup, Football League Trophy and play-off appearances, Hurst played 151 times and scored nineteen goals before moving to Mansfield Town in 2016.
