Right-back Ryan Auger came through Southend's academy, which he joined as an eleven-year-old, and signed his professional deal in June 2013. After gaining experience with Soham Town Rangers and St Neots Town on loan, he made his one Football League start for Southend in the 3–1 defeat at Newport County on 26 October 2013.
He remained with the club for the 2013/14 season but made no further senior first-team appearances. After being released he joined Bishop's Stortford and later played for Histon and other East Anglian sides.
