Simeon Akinola arrived from Barnet in September 2020 having been a proven attacking player in the National League. Southend's registration difficulties delayed his first league appearance until December, leaving him playing catch-up in a troubled League Two season.
He made 25 league appearances and scored twice for the Shrimpers before leaving the club in 2022, later continuing his career with Wealdstone.
