Tall French midfielder Alassane N'Diaye spent part of the summer of 2011 on loan at Southend while still registered with Crystal Palace. He had previously gained Football League experience at Palace and on loan with Swindon Town.
Although named among Southend's substitutes for the League Cup match against Leyton Orient in August, he did not take the field, and the surviving senior competition registers show no Southend first-team appearance. The short arrangement ended in August and he later joined Barnet.
