Before, during & after Southend
Midfielder Alex Woodyard graduated from Southend's youth set-up and made his first senior appearance against Burton Albion on 11 December 2010, aged seventeen. After three League Two games in 2010/11 he became more involved during 2012/13, playing in League, FA Cup and Football League Trophy fixtures.
He also spent periods on loan with Farnborough and Braintree Town before leaving Southend for Dartford in August 2013. His fifteen first-team appearances include seven league starts, one league substitute outing, three FA Cup games and four Trophy starts. He later became an important part of Lincoln City's rise through the divisions.
