Epping-born centre-half Andy Edwards came through Southend's youth ranks and helped the club win back-to-back promotions in 1990 and 1991. He moved to Birmingham City in 1995, captained Peterborough United through a play-off triumph and later played for Rushden & Diamonds.
Edwards returned to Roots Hall in 2004 for another remarkable pair of successive promotions before leaving in 2006. The original archive's 203 appearances and eight goals are retained as disputed because the separate season totals still need reconciling.
