Veteran Scottish international Christian Dailly arrived at Roots Hall in March 2012 on a non-contract basis. He had played in the Premier League for Derby County, Blackburn Rovers and West Ham United, as well as for Rangers, Charlton Athletic and Portsmouth.
The versatile defender brought experience to Southend's final promotion push, making three League Two starts. His brief spell with the Shrimpers was the last of his long professional playing career.
