Before, during & after Southend
Separate Southend spells
Dublin-born midfielder Conor Clifford came through Chelsea's youth ranks before a short stay at Leicester City led to a Southend contract in August 2013. His energetic, combative performances brought goals from midfield but also disciplinary problems, including suspensions during 2013/14.
Across two seasons he made 35 League Two appearances and six in cup, Trophy and play-off fixtures: 41 competitive outings and three goals. Clifford went to Barnet on loan in February 2015 and moved to Boreham Wood after leaving Southend that summer.
