Darren Oldaker arrived from Swindon Town in June 2026 alongside fellow midfielder Anthony Hartigan, giving Southend more drive and experience through the centre of the pitch. He has quickly become an important figure in Kieron Dyer's side, happy to carry possession forwards and try his luck from distance.

In September's 3–1 victory over Tamworth he helped create Leon Chambers-Parillon's opener with a sharp run and pass into the box. The archive's initial appearance count will rise as more 2026/27 results are processed.
