French central midfielder Jean-François Christophe first arrived on loan from Portsmouth in September 2008 and impressed enough to earn a permanent move at the start of 2009. He played in Southend's FA Cup run against Chelsea and became a regular in midfield across the difficult 2009/10 League One campaign.
After 79 senior games and six goals, he left in July 2010 and subsequently joined Oldham Athletic. His accented first name and separate loan/permanent registrations are preserved while older links remain valid.
