Before, during & after Southend
A hugely productive centre-forward and brother of future Liverpool manager Bill Shankly, Jimmy scored 100 goals in 152 senior Southend appearances across his spell from 1928 to 1933. He arrived from Sheffield United and went on to Barrow, leaving one of the finest scoring records in the club's early Football League years.
