Jonathan Hunt was another Barnet player to make the move to Southend in summer 1993. A versatile attacking midfielder rather than an out-and-out striker, he scored six times in 61 competitive appearances and followed Barry Fry to Birmingham City alongside Gary Poole in September 1994.
