Defender Louis Lomas joined Southend in July 2022 after a strong National League North season with Brackley Town. Formerly in Norwich City's system, he could operate across the back line and made twenty-one league appearances in his debut campaign.

A promising start was later disrupted by injury and limited opportunities, leading to his departure by mutual consent in February 2024. He went on to rebuild his playing time in non-league football, including a spell at Slough Town.
