Nathan Harness came through Charlton Athletic's system before moving to MK Dons and collecting loan experience with Gateshead and Wealdstone. Southend called on him for a short goalkeeping loan in January 2025, then brought him back on an emergency deal for the National League play-off final against Oldham at Wembley on 1 June.

Those were separate arrangements, not one continuous stay. He later signed for Maidstone United, and Tonbridge Angels brought him in for the 2026/27 season.
