Afghanistan international Noor Husin signed from Dartford in January 2022 and quickly became one of Southend's most influential central midfielders. Comfortable receiving the ball under pressure, he supplied composure and passing range through difficult seasons at Roots Hall.

His goals included memorable long-range efforts, and he also represented Afghanistan in World Cup qualifying while at the club. A serious knee injury in September 2025 curtailed his final Southend season before his departure in May 2026.
