Former Charlton Athletic defender Osei Sankofa signed for Southend in July 2008 after a loan at Brentford earlier that year. Able to play at right-back or in central defence, he featured regularly during 2008/09 before injuries and competition for places reduced his involvement in 2009/10.
He left following relegation, with 44 senior Southend appearances and no goals. Later non-league clubs included Farnborough and Boreham Wood; his precise first post-Southend club registration still requires confirmation.
