Before, during & after Southend
Experienced striker Paul Furlong joined Southend from Luton Town in July 2008 after a long career that had included Chelsea and Queens Park Rangers. At nearly forty, he featured only four times for the Shrimpers—three appearances in League One and one League Cup start—without scoring.
He moved to Barnet on loan in January 2009, eventually signing there permanently that summer. Goals scored in friendly and reserve games are excluded from his competitive Southend tally.
