Forward Seedy Njie joined Southend's scholarship programme in July 2011 and earned his first senior chance in a League Cup defeat at Peterborough United on 14 August 2012, replacing Elliot Benyon. He also made one short League Two substitute appearance at Roots Hall against Morecambe in April 2013, taking his competitive Southend tally to two games.
Njie earned a professional deal but spent time developing on loan at Bishop's Stortford, Histon and Concord Rangers, before joining Billericay Town in summer 2014. Youth-team goals and loan performances are not counted in his Southend first-team total.
