Before, during & after Southend
Stan Collymore's stay at Roots Hall lasted barely eight months, but what an impact. Signed from Crystal Palace in November 1992, he scored eighteen goals in just 33 competitive matches, including three in the FA Cup. His goals helped Southend stay clear of relegation, and Nottingham Forest signed him in summer 1993 for what was then a club-record fee.
