Bristol City defender Taylor Moore came to Roots Hall on a season-long loan in August 2018 after spells at Bury and Cheltenham Town. He could operate at centre-back or either full-back position and supplied valuable defensive cover during Southend's 2018/19 League One season.

Moore started 39 competitive games and made one appearance from the bench, scoring once in forty matches. He returned to Bristol City in summer 2019 after becoming a regular presence in the Southend defence.
