Powerful forward Tesfaye ‘Tes’ Bramble joined Southend from Cambridge City in January 2001, at first on a brief loan before the transfer was made permanent. He scored six times during his first few months, building a four-and-a-half-season Southend career and earning Montserrat international recognition.
In spring 2005 he had a Cambridge United loan before a permanent move to Stockport County that summer.
