Theophilus 'Tot' Pike came from Birmingham in 1930 and scored 20 goals in 72 competitive outings over three seasons. The left-sided forward had suffered injury setbacks earlier in his career but re-established himself at Southend before joining Norwich City in 1933, later becoming a player-coach at Bury Town.
