Harry Taylor joined Southend from Barnet in 2022 and became a remarkably dependable member of the defence, equally comfortable on the right of a back three and stepping into midfield. He had come through Chelsea's youth ranks before starting his senior career at Barnet.
His consistency brought the Players' Player of the Season award in 2023/24, and he once played every minute in more than sixty consecutive matches. He was named vice-captain for 2026/27 and remains part of the current squad.
