Bulgarian striker Slavi Spasov developed at Oxford United, where he became the club's youngest senior goalscorer with a penalty on his debut in the EFL Trophy. After rebuilding his confidence and form in non-league football, eighteen goals for Slough Town in 2024/25 earned him a move to Southend in June 2025.

He scored his first Shrimpers goal away at Wealdstone, became a useful cup and league goalscorer and grabbed a dramatic late winner at Yeovil in November. Spasov left for Yeovil Town permanently in July 2026.
