Introduction
For many Southend United supporters, Oli Coker represents the dream. Born in Southend-on-Sea and raised supporting the Blues, Coker progressed through the club's academy before eventually pulling on the first-team shirt himself.
Biography
A lifelong Blues supporter, Coker joined the club's academy in 2011 and progressed through every age group within the youth system. One of the most memorable parts of that journey came in 2015 when he was among the Southend supporters at Wembley Stadium to witness the dramatic League Two Play-Off Final victory over Wycombe Wanderers. Years later, he would be representing the same club on the pitch.

Coker joined Southend's academy as a youngster and developed into one of the club's most promising prospects.
First-team breakthrough
He made his senior debut against Portsmouth in the EFL Trophy in October 2020 and later made his Football League debut against Newport County.
Loan experience
Spells with East Thurrock United and Aveley gave him regular senior football and helped him mature.
Establishing himself
The 2023/24 season marked a major breakthrough, including a superb goal against Oldham Athletic and another strike against Dagenham & Redbridge.
Southend United Career
As an academy graduate and lifelong supporter, Coker's rise through the ranks has been one of the most popular stories at Roots Hall. By the age of 23, he had already surpassed 100 first-team appearances for the club and scored more than a dozen senior goals. Having signed a long-term contract extension, Coker remains one of the key building blocks for Southend United's future.
Playing Style
Coker is an attack-minded midfielder who combines technical ability with energy and intelligence. Comfortable operating centrally or in more advanced positions, he possesses the vision to create opportunities and the confidence to carry a goal threat of his own.
One Of Our Own
Few players can say they have experienced Southend United from every angle. Coker has cheered the club from the stands, progressed through the academy, represented the first team and helped deliver success on the pitch.
